What the codex collects.

Last updated: April 18, 2026

The short version

What gets collected, and by whom

Local storage

Some tools — starting with the Writing Exercise Tool — save your session history to your browser’s local storage so your progress persists between visits. This data lives entirely on your device. The site never reads it from a server, and nothing is transmitted anywhere. You can clear it any time using the “Clear history” button inside the tool, or by clearing your browser’s site data.

Hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare)

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log basic request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL) as part of operating the service, preventing abuse, and providing aggregate traffic analytics. This is standard for any site on the internet; you can read Cloudflare’s own policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Cloudflare Web Analytics (planned)

Once enabled, Cloudflare Web Analytics will track aggregate traffic volume and page views. It does not use cookies, does not track individual visitors across sites, and does not build user profiles. It is privacy-focused by design.

Google AdSense (planned)

When ads are enabled on this site, Google and its partners will serve them. AdSense may set cookies on your browser to personalize ads, measure impressions, and prevent fraud. Google’s use of your data is governed by their policies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com.

Patreon and Ko-fi

The support page links to external Patreon and Ko-fi pages. If you follow one of those links and make a contribution, you interact directly with those services. This site does not receive, store, or process payment information.
