Why ad-supported?
Because gates are worse than ads.
A signup wall says “you can’t use this until you pay us in data.” A premium tier says “the good version is behind this door.” A banner ad just says “sponsored” — honest, ignorable, and it keeps the tool itself wide open.
So the tools here are ad-supported, because the alternative was worse. Support removes the ads from your experience indirectly — the more the site earns from patrons, the less it has to lean on ads in the first place.
