Tool 04 · World building

Build cities you’d actually want to visit. Field by field.

A guided worksheet for cities and settlements. Every field has a hint that explains what’s being asked and why — and most have a curated library you can browse or roll on when you’re stuck. Type your own answer when you’ve got one. Skip what doesn’t apply. Export when you’re ready.

How it works

Two tiers, your pace.

The tool is built in two tiers. Core covers the essentials — identity, place, power, economy, culture. Fill these and you have a usable city. Deeper Detail adds the rest: districts, infrastructure, defense, laws, daily tensions. Add as much or as little as you want.

A third tab, Output, compiles your filled-in fields into a downloadable city document — in PDF, Markdown, or Word. Empty fields are simply omitted, so a half-finished city still reads cleanly.

Type, browse, or roll

Three ways into every field

Most fields offer a Browse library button (a curated list of options with definitions) and a Roll button (random pick from the same list). Type your own when you’ve got an idea. Browse to learn what’s out there. Roll when you want a starting nudge.

Saved locally

Your cities live in your browser. Multiple saves supported — name them, duplicate them, come back to them. Nothing leaves your device.

Built for setting-specific work

The tool covers fantasy, sci-fi, modern, and post-apocalyptic settings without forcing you into any of them. Add custom fields when the standard ones don’t cover what your setting needs.

If this helped, keep it free for someone else.
